Technology and Teacher Development
Instructor's Blog Post
This post was very positive and reaffirming for me. It allowed me to review all the materials I had learned and see how far I've come in this class and with the skills. My favorite section was the week where we learned about O.E.R. which allowed me to see that with a little bit of effort, I can find a multitude of materials for teachers in the future. There are many resources available because it is such an important industry and this blog gave me a great perceptive on that.

Teachers are often perfecting and implementing technologies into their classroom. It can be used in every aspect of the classroom from attendance to testing. That is why it is important for instructors to stay up to date on current technologies which can possibly be used to aid them. One easy way to do this is to check the Office of Educational Technologies website (https://tech.ed.gov/). This is the official website for the Department of Education and gives teachers insight to information surrounding educational technology (e.g. funding, tools, tips, etc).
PowerPoint
While I already had extensive knowledge about Microsoft PowerPoint, the two projects for this class (screenshots below!) gave me a lot of information I had not previously known. For example, prior to this class, I had not been able to set up a non-linear presentation. This is a great skill to implement games and other unique instruction to students. These projects also taught me how to utilize aspects of PowerPoints from an instructor's P.O.V. such as speaker notes, video implementation, and voice over. In the future, I would like to practice more on the voice over because it is a great skill for absent teachers, yet uncomfortable to initiate. Overall, PowerPoint is a fun and unique experience where you can do a multitude of lessons and I really liked it.
